In the past couple of years, charity has been one of the most pivotal aspects in the creation of a state, which while somewhat limited in resources, is not lacking in generosity, with record funds being targeted and achieved every year. "L-Istrina" is the most important charity event, with funds given to various organisations.

As a means of supporting this noble gesture, a theme song is recorded, and what is intriguing is that several familiar faces make an appearance, all in the face of charity. This year, the song is entitled "Int Min Int", and is composed by Dominic Cini to the lyrics of Giovann Attard with production entrusted to Elton Zarb of Freetime Productions.

"Int Min Int" features the vocals of; Amber (ESC 2015), Dominic (MESC 2015), Renato (ESC 1975) , Ina Robinich, Federica Falzon (JESC 2014), Gaia Cauchi (JESC 2013), La Barokka, Mary Spiteri (ESC 1992), Mary Rose Mallia, Noel Zarb, Georgina (ESC 1991), Janvil (MESC 2005-2006, 2009), Josmar, Iona Dalli (MESC 2015), Lawrence Gray (MESC 1998, 1999, 2001-2004, 2010, 2012, 2015), Ludwig Galea (ESC 2004), Deborah C (MESC 12-14).

We urge you to watch, and donate during this year's edition of "L-Istrina" as it is aired on Television Malta, ONE Television, NET Television, F Living and Smash Television during the traditional "Boxing Day", otherwise also known as the 26th December, the day following Christmas. Stay tuned to escflashmalta.com even through Facebook and Twitter for all the latest news.

It is a fair comment to pass that bands whose sound does not evolve, are somewhat archaic and stuck. Red Electrick have definitely made this their mantra, having developed a sound which, whilst instantly recognisable, is also very current. Their latest release "Young Again", echoes a similar aura to "Paul", their hit single from 2013, but this is bigger, and better, not too mention, featuring the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra.

Matthew James Borg, Raphael Tonna, Ivan Borg, Jonas Delicata and Peter Borg are without a doubt extremely talent musicians, with a true penchanct for live performances. Yet, the standout element surely has to be the distinctive vocal performance of Matthew James Borg, who has proven on countless occasions, that when the music is stripped back, his voice is vulnerable to the surrounding air, creating gooseflesh, leaving a mark, a deep meaning and an eventual yearning for more.

Winners of the Best Band and the Best Song accolade at the 2014 Malta Music Awards solidified their position in the local music industry. In support of the single release, Red Electrick have issued a music video, produced by Stargate Studios, one which has already amassed more than 12,000 views on YouTube. Dean Muscat, an accomplished male songwriter who co-wrote "Tomorrow", sung by Gianluca Bezzina during the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest, has recently turned his attention to becoming a lead vocalist, issuing his debut single, "Twentysomething". A guitar led ballad, with hints of wind chimes and a harmonica, there is a certain aura which quickly reminds the listener of a Ben Howard album track, one which stands out from the rest.

"Twentysomething", written and recorded by Dean Muscat at home, was then professionally mixed and mastered by Robin Ball and Ivan Jackman. Since being uploaded onto YouTube, it has amassed well over a 1,000 views, as well as a string of positive comments. Dabbling into the art of performance, Dean Muscat is hoping to spread around a positive message, one which brings out emotion. Domenique, a female vocalist, who recently gained prestige and notoriety as a result of her victory at the Summer Hit Song Contest 2014 with the song "Back To", written by Mark Scicluna and Emil Calleja Bayliss, is clearly on a high, having also been a semi-finalist in the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2015. She is clearly the most recognisable guest in this week's episode. Nevertheless, she will not be along, and is set to be joined by Ġorg tad-Downats, a television and radio host, as well as Carlos Farrugia, a veteran actor.
