Whilst Russia is all over the news from all the wrong reasons, it seems that Malta has brought a bit of sunshine to St Petersburg with a successful couple of days for the eleven year old female vocalist Anhelica Pace. Competing in the international showcase entitled Little Stars, and accompanied by Kaya, her vocal coach, there was no stopping the young budding artist from a massive triumph going onto achieve a ten point winning margin over Mateja Bokan of Serbia and a twelve point winning margin over second runner-up Egor Grigorjev of Russia.

It is worth noting that Anhelica Pace on behalf of Malta had to compete against vocalists from Estonia, Russia, Bulgaria, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Portugal, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Belarus and Austria. The competition was divided on three evenings, with Anhelica going onto perform two songs in total; Je T’Aime (Missier) written by Christopher Azzopardi and Can’t Let Go originally performed by Jennifer Hudson the hit musical series Smash. In the overall Grand Prix award, Anhelica came in second place, a mere one point behind Bulgaria’s Petya Georgieva. Nevertheless, it is worth pointing out that the Maltese vocalist managed to triumph amongst nine different jury members, and that brings pride to her and her vocal teacher, Kaya, who is also the co-director of Singer Stage. Stay tuned to for all the latest news.
