Israel has always been touted to be a nation of great musical talent and some of their artists have presented themselves to Europe reaching notable success and therefore, that is something that the broadcaster, IBA has in mind for the 2012 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. The aim is to reach the upper echelons of the scoreboard and following the scrapping of the national selection which was set to features some of the best talent in the country, an internal selection is set to take place. In an unexpected announcement, the representative was announced later this afternoon.

The committee as assembled by the broadcaster being IBA, came to a conclusion earlier today that the representatives for the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest would be none other than the group Izabo with the song 'Time' written by Ran Shem-Tov and Shiri Hadar who are two of the members of the same aforementioned group. The song which is said to be of electronic pop and oriental flavour will be released in due time. The committee which consists of eleven members in total including Mira Award, the 2009 representatives heard six other entries including that of Maya Buskila but did not see it as good as this one. The composer of the song stated 'This is truly a great honor for us, to represent Israel at the Eurovision Song Contest. This year will be hectic for us, also with a new album coming out with the British record label '100%'. We will give the best show in Baku'
