In a press release issued through netnews.com.mt, the organising committee of the ‘Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza’ issued the names of the finalists, their song-titles and also their respective songwriters for this year’s edition which is set to take place on the 19th September. It has been a couple of weeks since the 25th edition of the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza, and the return to the Floriana Granaries was very well received by the public present. In the aftermath of “L-Għanja tal-Poplu – Festival tal-Kanzunetta Maltija”, the attention of the local music scene quickly turns to the “Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza”, another music competition which features original songs in Maltese, capping a successful series of months for our national language. Through their Official Facebook Page, the organising committee of the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza revealed the draw for the running order of the three different categories; Talent Stabbilit, Talent Ġdid, and Junior. This was done at the studios at Media.Link Communications in the presence of a notary public, as well as a small number of participants or their respective representatives. Through their online news portal MaltaRightNow, Media.Link Communications issued the names of the finalist entries, and their respective performers for the 2015 edition of the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza Junior. Following an unspecified number of submissions, as received on the 17th July 2015, a professional panel of judges whittled down the entries. They chose those which stood out and reflected the saying 'music to their ears' before coming up with 21 songs, all of which were interpreted with LIVE vocals by their respective artists. In previous years, the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza was a hub for newfound talent, with the winning circle going onto achieve more success in the near future. This was not the case in recent years with established acts and former Eurovision Song Contest representatives; Mike Spiteri and Fabrizio Faniello amongst the last four acts to have won the local music competition.
