NTU, host broadcaster of this years' edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest is currently finalising details with regards to the staging despite the fact that the final list of participating countries is not yet confirmed. The fact of the matter remains that the European Broadcasting Union is somewhat holding talks with a select number of broadcasters, leading to possible debuts and returns. It is being widely rumoured that San Marino will be making their first appearance at the competition, even though success at the senior event has not been recorded.

Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, FYR Macedonia, Malta, Moldova, Netherlands, Russia, Sweden and Ukraine are the eleven (11) participating countries which have confirmed their presence for the event taking place in Kiev, Ukraine. Malta will be returning to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest following an absence of two years, with Gaia Cauchi set to perform the song The Start a co-write between Elton Zarb, Matt Mercieca and Gillian Attard. San Marino's debut would see Italian being used at the event for just the second time in history with Switzerland having made use of the language back in 2004 with Demis Mirarchi performing the track Birichiro. Stay tuned to escflashmalta.com for all of the latest news about the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2013.
