Eurovision Interview with Hanna Pakarinen (Finland 2007):


The Eurovision Party in Setubal took place on 11 September 2010 under open sky with the participation of many national and international Eurovision performers. JP went to this event and brought back some interviews which Radio International will be airing within the next weeks. This week the series continues with Finland entry at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2007 Hanna Pakarinen who reached Number 17 with the rockish song called "Leave me alone" Listen to this interview with Hanna and JP about her participation at the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest and what happened with her career right after until now and her future career plans.



Euro Friend Song Contest 2010 - Qualifiers of HEAT 7:


Radio International in collaboration with the Euro Friends Song Contest 2011 announcing the qualifiers of HEAT 7 which is a reflection of what the international juries voted for on the Face Book Page of the contest. Andy Simon who is one of the prime organisers will be joining the team in this week's show to announce the qualifiers of HEAT 7 and you can hear little clips of the songs that made it through. HEAT 8 will start shortly and on the Face Book Page of the Euro Friends Song Contest, you can vote for your 10 favourite songs in the Eurovision Song Contest amongst the eighth hundred songs of Europe's biggest music competition. Join to vote for your favourite Eurovision songs by clicking on this link which takes you to the Face Book Page of the Event. Remember, you have to be a member in order to join the voting.

Eurovision Song Contest Spotlight: Germany.


In view of the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest from Germany, Radio International's four regular Eurovision Experts will be joining us in turn week by week to review all the German entries of the Eurovision Song Contest from 1956 to 2010. This week Chris Poppe takes a look at the years 1960 to 1964.

Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2010 - Interview with Nicole Azzopardi (Malta 2010) and Glen Vella (Runner-Up Malta Eurosong 2010):

The eighth edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest will take place on Saturday, 20 November 2010 in Minsk, Belarus where 14 young singers will compete for the trophy of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2010. This week Radio International is proud to welcome on the show live from Malta - Nicole Azzopardi who won the ticket to Minsk in winning the national Maltese Junior Song Contest with the song "Knock Knock! ... Boom! Boom!". Glen Vella - no stranger to the listeners of Radio International - who has been very successful in the last couple of years in the Maltese national selection to the Eurovision Song Contest reaching third in 2009 and second in 2010 - will be joining the interview as he is the vocal teacher of Nicole. The Team of Radio International is looking forward to be talking to both singers on this week's edition of Radio International.

Live in the studio - a young singer from Estonia: Christa Karu who participated at a Eurovision Workshop in Germany and also at the Home Composed Song Contest 2009 and 2010. Christa will be telling us all about the Workshop and her career.

Euro Friend Song Contest 2010 - HEAT 8 - The Qualifiers:
Radio International in collaboration with the Euro Friends Song Contest will be announcing during the show this week the ten qualifiers of HEAT 8 of what the international juries have been voting for on the Facebook page.

Interview with Lucia Perez (Spain 2011):
OGAE Netherlands had their very first convention in the Dutch City of Rotterdam with the participation of Justine Pelmelay (Netherlands 1989), Nusa Derenda (Slovenia 2001) and Lucia Perez (Spain 2011). The Team of Radio International was present and conducted interviews with all three artists. This week listen to Luke Fisher chatting with Lucia Perez on her time at the Eurovision Song Contest and the time afterwards. Lucia represented Spain at the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest in Dusseldorf with the song "Que me quiten lo bailao" reaching Number 23.

The Sound of Life is Pop - Quiz and tickets to the German TV show to be won:
On Saturday, 22 October 2011 German broadcaster ZDF will be airing a live show called "50 Jahre Pop Musik" (50 years of Pop Music). To celebrate the anniversary many pop artists from past and present are invited to this event. 80s Superstar Kim Wilde is one of the Co-Hosts of the show that is being transmitted from the German City of Leipzig. Fabrizio Faniello (Malta 2001 & 2006) with Jones sing the theme song to this event called "The Sound of Life is Pop" which has just been released by Fabrizio's German Record Company CAP-Sound who kindly make available two tickets for this event. All you have to do is to listen to this week's edition of Radio International and listen out to the quiz question and send in your answer. Please note that CAP-Sound are donating the tickets but not the transportation and accommodation should you win the tickets.

Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2011 Spotlight with Michael Goodrich:
13 countries will be taking part at the 2011 Junior Eurovision Song Contest which will come from the capital of Armenia - Yerevan on Saturday, 03 December 2011. Michael follows the National Finals of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest and each week will deliver a summary of what has happened so far. This week in particular he will feature the Belgian National Selection called Junior Eurosong.

Eurovision Song Contest Spotlight - Eurovision's Runner Up with Chris Poppe:
The second part of the new series this week when our Eurovision correspondents take a chronological look at the songs that came second in the Eurovision Song Contest during the years from 1956 to now whereas 1956 had no known ranking. Chris continuous this week with 1962 to 1966.

Interview with Nusa Derenda (Slovenia 2001):
Nusa Derenda was also star guest on the very first OGAE Netherlands Concert event on Saturday, 08 October 2011 and performed absolutely amazing many of her songs and covers of Eurovision Song Contest entries. Nusa Derenda represented Slovenia at the 2001 Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen, Denmark with the song "Energy" which came 7th and to date is the highest achievement of Slovenia at the Eurovision Song Contest. JP & Luke interviewed the charming singer which you can on the show this week.

02 October 2011 was the last submission day for competing songs in this year's competition. And with this the official voting season for the Home Composed Song Contest 2011 has started. Each week Radio International will feature some of the competing songs.

Co-hosting and Interview with Sietse Bakker from the European Broadcasting Union (EBU):

Radio International is extremely honoured to have Sietse Bakker with us live in the studio. Sietse Bakker is the Executive Supervisor of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest and also Event Coordinator of the Eurovision Song Contest working closely together with the Executive Supervisor of the Eurovision Song Contest - Jan Ola Sand from the European Broadcasting Union - for short the EBU. Sietse will be with us throughout the entire show this week and is ready to answer also your questions you can send in via the website's CONTACT link and via the Livestream chatroom. But also Sietse will be co-hosting the show this week with a whole list of great entries to the Eurovision Song Contest which carry a story and also there are some detailed background information of the Eurovision Song Contest in Baku. Winner Interview with Kurt Calleja (Malta 2012):

On 04 February 2012 the Maltese broadcaster pbs presented to the viewers the 16 finalists that made it from the Semi Final from the day before into the Final which was staged in Malta's Fairs and Convention Centre (MFCC) in Ta'Qali in the heart of Malta. The show was called "The Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2012" and the Maltese nation together with an international panel voted for the song "This is the night" performed by Kurt Calleja who will represent Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku in Semi Final 2. The Team of Radio International made two interviews with Kurt. One before the contest which you will hear next week and the other one right after the Winner's Press Conference.

Eurovision Song Contest Spotlight - "The National Finals so far" with Chris Poppe:

Until the end of the National Final Season  for the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 (10 March 2012) the Radio International Eurovision specialists will be taking a weekly look at the songs that have been selected for Baku so far. Chris will take a look at some highlights from National Finals and Semi Finals of Azerbaijan, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Lithuania, Malta, Norway and Sweden.

Euro Friends Song Contest 2012 with Andy Simon:

The next season of the Euro Friends Song Contest is under way in search for the ultimate Eurovision song as voted for by the many fans around the world.  Andy  Simon joins us every week to reveal the qualifiers for the next round.  The website of the Euro Friends Song Contest www.euro-friends.com where you can easily vote for your favourite Eurovision song per country and also see The Euro-Friends TV Show as hosted by Andy Simon. During the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2012 which was held last weekend Angun presented the French entry to the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 called "Echo - You and I". Hello from the city of Oslo, Norway. The team of this website which beard the name escflashmalta.com has finally made it to host country of this year's Eurovision Song Contest; part of the team arrived from Stockholm by plane while Kristof and JP decided to take a road trip by car all the way from the Netherlands. The trip started on Monday via Hamburg, it than moved to Odense in Denmark, up next was Copenhagen, than Malmo, Gothenburg and finally Oslo.


On their way to Oslo, Kristof and JP went on a Eurovision Pilgrimage as they visited the Eurovision Venues in the cities mentioned above. In this video you can enjoy a clip taken by our team from the venues where Eurovision History was made. Click here to see it.
