Jedward, the Irish duo who represented their country at the Eurovision Song Contest on two consecutive occasions, starting off with Lipstick in 2011 and Waterline in 2012 are currently undergoing a re-branding exercise, one which will see them change their official stage name. John and Edward - Jedward is the brand new name which they have taken up to support their music. In recent weeks, it was reported that their three album deal with Universal Music Ireland came to an end without any plans for a renewal.

The pop duo originally came to fame following their participation within the British X Factor, where they managed to make it through to the final stages of the competition. Despite not being branded as the best possible vocalists, they are clear cut entertainers and as a matter of fact, Louis Walsh saw that something special. Their success has not been shortlived to be honest noting that they have become a force to be reckoned with in Scandinavia and Eastern Europe. John and Jedward - Jedward are possibly being loined up to represent Ireland for a third time. Stay tuned to escflashmalta.com for all of the latest news.

Lipstick, co-written by Dan Priddy, Lars Halvor Jensen and Martin Larsson with vocals by Jedward was the track which gave dignity to Ireland in recent years, noting the success of the track in the charts where it peaked at number #1 prior to reaching eighth place at the final of the Eurovision Song Contest. Jedward helped raise the profile of the competition in the once dominant nation and thus returned for a second participation the following year with the track Waterline co-written by Nick Jarl and Sharon Vaughn. Recent media speculation might see the duo return to the competition for a third time.

In recent weeks, Jedward confirmed that their three (3) album contract with Universal Music Ireland has officially ended without being renewed, something which is quite surprising considering that their releases have all proven to be successful in Ireland and beyond. Their last studio album entitled Young Love was number #1 in Ireland, number #11 in Sweden, #8 in Estonia, #18 in Korea and #22 in Finland amongst others. Their success on a European level has all come down to their participation at the Eurovision Song Contest and a return could somewhat help them secure a recording contract.

It's relatively funny to denote that despite not having a record deal, the brotherly duo known as Jedward have recently been in Los Angeles recording songs with Drew Andrew Scott who is a successful songwriter and producer who has worked with the likes of Willow Smith, The Overtones, New Kids on the Block and Miley Cyrus amongst others. Jedward are currently on tour having been to Canada, Australia and currently Africa. They will continue to entertain audiences as much as their energy permits it seems. Stay tuned to escflashmalta.com for all of the latest news as soon as it becomes available.

Sweden: Jedward to Guest Star in MF 2013

John and Edward, commonly known as Jedward are Irish twins who have risen to success following their stint on the British version of the X Factor which led to a recording deal, first with Sony Music Ireland and then eventually with Universal Music Ireland, seeing them take part in the Eurovision Song Contest on two occasions. The first time with Lipstick in 2011 finishing in eight place and the second time with Waterline managing only nineteenth in 2012. Nevertheless, their profile across Europe has risen considerably especially in Sweden, a nation which gave them 12 points on the first offering and 5 points, the second time round.

They will be the special guests of this weeks' second chance at Melodifestivalen. SVT, the broadcaster in charge for the Swedish preselection is keeping the whole affair relatively a secret but nevertheless, it seems that in true second chance fashion, they will be duelling with the hosts, Gina Dirawi and Danny Saucedo, the latter being a two time first runner-up of the Melodifestivalen competition. Jedward have continuously continued to surprise their main critic Simon Cowell with their success with their latest album Young Love reaching number #1 in Ireland, number #8 in Estonia, #11 in Sweden, #22 in Finland and #50 in Germany amongst others.

  1. You - Robin Stjernberg
  2. Vi Kommer Aldrig Att Forlara - Eric Gadd
  3. Hon Har Inte - Caroline af Ugglas
  4. Jalla Dansa Sawa - Behrang Miri
  5. Hello Goodbye - Erik & Tone
  6. Begging - Anton Ewald
  7. Burning Flags - Cookies 'N' Beans
  8. In and Out of Love - Martin Rolinski

One of their backing vocalists, Leanne Moore will once more be representing Ireland in that capacity with Ryan Dolan with the song Only Love Survives. Dolan was selected to take part in the show by Stuart O'Connor who was the choreographer for Jedward in the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest that took place in Baku, Azerbaijan. The connections are somewhat quite intriguing and it seems that anything connected with the Irish twins is very much successful and thus, there is a very positive vibe around the aforementioned Ryan Dolan as he represents Ireland in the first semi-final of the upcoming competition. Stay tuned to escflashmalta.com for all of the latest news about the 2013 edition of the Melodifestivalen.

RTÉ, the Irish broadcaster responsible for the participation in the Eurovision Song Contest has always seen the competition from a positive point of view and considering that their most recent results have been rather well, renewed interest in the people has also been noted. The brotherly duo known as Jedward were selected through a public and a jury for the past two years, first time round with the track Lipstick which finished in eight place and second time round with the song Waterline which could only manage twentieth place. Nevertheless, qualification from the semi-final has been achieved for the past three years and the selection process featuring five notable mentors will be used in 2013 as they hope that their successful streak does indeed continue.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that the mentors for the 2013 edition of the Late Late Show Eurosong special will be none other than Mairéad Farrell, Shay Healy, Mark McCabe, Niall Mooney and Stuart O’Connor. Each individual brings a vast amount of experience on board whether through radio, production or songwriting. There have been a number of names mentioned thus far although some are pretty unlikely at this point in time due to other commitments in music. Amongst those which are heavily tipped to be joining the list are none other than Leanne Moore and Rebecca Creighton who backed Jedward in the past two years at the Eurovision Song Contest, Sharon Condon, a former member of the girlband known as Wonderland and former runner-up Nikki Kavanagh who seems to be showing interest once more. Outsiders for the showcase are seemingly former Westlife members; Shane Filan and Mark Feehily whilst the strong rumours surrounding Shayne Ward have also died down because of his commitments to Dancing on Ice. The revelation of the artists will be made in the next couple of weeks so make sure to stay tuned to escflashmalta.com for all of the latest news from Ireland as they try to conquer the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest.

Ireland: RTÉ Reveals Selection Details

In recent years, Ireland has managed to maintain that reputation as a solid force in the Eurovision Song Contest with RTÉ carefully planning their respective strategy in order to attract high profile acts with a number of potent hit tracks and in fact, the people who did come forward were none other than the duo Jedward who not only represented the country in 2011 with the track Lipstick but ultimately returned in the year 2012 with the song Waterline. There has been a lot of interest in the competition locally due to the fact that the brotherly duo are somewhat well known with the younger audiences and with their reputation still intact, they denied to say whether they would rule out a possible third participation but not for the time being. In the meantime though, RTÉ revealed to our friends at esctoday.com that they will be staying true to the mentor system used in the past two years for 2013 hoping that another brilliant entry come forward.

There are a lot of names which are being touted as potential members within the mentors first and foremost with a former winner also somewhat in the mix according to the latest information. The favourite to take such a position following Linda Martin last year is surely her successor in the vein of Niamh Kavanagh who of course was the first one to take Ireland into the final since Brian Kennedy in 2006 when she represented the nation in 2010 with the song It's For You. A number of other people from the entertainment industry will surely be involved in one way or another but nevertheless, several questions are being asked about who will ultimately be performing in the national selection with the hope of representing Ireland. Amongst the people being mentioned are the backing vocalists for Jedward in the last Eurovision Song Contest, those being Leanne Moore and Melanie McCabe who have taken part in You're A Star and The X Factor respectively. Also being mentioned is none other than former runner-up Nikki Kavanagh. The names will be revealed in due course. The final taking place on The Late Late Show will be aired on the 22nd February 2013. Stay tuned to escflashmalta.com for all of the latest news soon as it becomes available.

Despite the fact that they failed to win the X Factor back in 2009, finishing in a respectable fifth place ahead of acts which were thought to be finishing much higher, they have managed to carve out a successful career with Universal Music Ireland who have sought to push them to the limits with their music releases. One of the main key factors of their success in Europe has surely been led through two entries at the Eurovision Song Contest, first in 2011 with the song Lipstick finishing in eight place and then in 2012 with the song Waterline which could only manage nineteenth place. Nevertheless, their success continues with their most recent album Young Love charting at number #1 in Ireland, #8 in Estonia and #11 in Sweden and #22 in Finland amongst others. They have decided to release their third single off the record bearing the name Luminous.

Their most recent track is being officially released online through all digital platforms including iTunes for example as from Tuesday, 16th October 2012 although it did get an official release in Ireland just slightly before, 12th October 2012. The songwriters of this song are all Swedish; Sebastian Lundberg, Fredrik Häggstam, Johan Gustafson and Marlene Strand meaning that the sound is somewhat expected to be very much in their original vein. The music video shows the brothers in extremely different form than what many are used to but we will let you judge their appearance and their song. It is important to point out that whilst Jedward have not ruled out returning to the competition anytime in the next couple of years, they said that they could potentially return in the future. Stay tuned to escflashmalta.com in the coming weeks for more news about Eurostars and the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest.

Ireland: Jedward Made the Wrong Choice

Seven victories have seen Ireland keep their record as the most successful country at the Eurovision Song Contest and despite the fact that they have not managed to come anywhere close to the top three in recent years, it seems that their fortunes are improving noting last years' top ten finish and this years' semi-final qualification thanks to the twins, Jedward and their entries Lipstick and Waterline where in the final they finished in eight and nineteenth place respectively. In the months leading up to the Irish Eurosong, there had been a lot of speculation on the track which the duo would ultimately be performed noting the fact that Linda Martin went on record stating that they had been receiving a lot of songs which were being put under consideration. As the date of the selection loomed, the twins went onto their twitter saying that the song would ultimately be called What's Your Number but in a couple of days, people learned the song is actually called Waterline.

The difference of the title could have still referred to the same track in the long run but this would not turn out to be the case eventually, especially due to the fact that when their third album Young Love was released earlier this year, peaking at number #1 in Ireland, number #8 in Estonia and #18 in Sweden amongst other, there was a track with the same name that many had expected to be their bid for the Eurovision Song Contest. As the fact remains, weeks have passed since the Eurovision Song Contest in Baku, Azerbaijan came to an end but we seriously believe that the wrong song was picked noting that What's Your Number is fresh, catchy and very much in boys' vocal range. The choreography for it would have been very instant and people would have remembered the song easier without the extra needed gimmick of the fountain that was brought in to help the viewers remember the track. Ireland have managed to make it through to the finals for the past three years and will be hoping to do so in 2013 when the contest moves to Malmo, Sweden. There are a number of names who are being tipped for next year including Imelda May, Leanne Moore, Mikey Graham, Nadine Coyle and even Johnny Logan amongst others. Stay tuned to escflashmalta.com for all of the latest news.

The participation of Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest has always conjured up a lot of interesting noting that they were the country who everyone would to be like during the nineties due to the fact that they managed to win the competition on four (4) occasions, including three (3) in succession totally their amount of victories to seven (7). In the past two years, the Irish broadcaster responsible for the participation of the nation being RTÉ had a national selection where a set of mentors brought forward act and songs to compete against each other and both times, it was Jedward who were selected noting their major fan-base amongst the teens, a new demographic brought about to the Eurovision Song Contest when it comes to Ireland. On both occasions, the boys were accompanied by a set of backing vocalists, one of them being the lovely Leanne Moore.

The leading lady of the talent show You're A Star just after being dropped as the national selection method has been trying to succeed in the Irish music industry and following the victory, she went onto release her debut single entitled On Wings which debuted at #1 on the charts meaning that she had momentum but nevertheless, other stuff came first for the performer and lost her way at some point. Nevertheless, she has been working hard on her comeback and even tried to represent Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest back in 2010 with the track Does Heaven Need Much More? written by Tommy Moran and John Waters. Unfortunately, it did not perform well finishing in fourth place in total but nevertheless, she has been diligently working with Louis Walsh in recent years, noting her choice with Jedward. She is currently the odds on favourite to represent the seven time winning nation according to Paddy Power beating Jedward in second place and then Johnny Logan in third place. Other interesting performers coming in positions four and five are Mikey Graham of Boyzone and Nadine Coyle of Girls Aloud. Ireland: Jedward Releasing New Single

Ireland remains to be the most successful nation at the Eurovision Song Contest having managed to amass a record seven victories over the years surpassing the likes of the United Kingdom whose music industry is definitely stronger in comparison. For the past two years, the Emerald Isle was represented by Jedward, a set of twins who first came to fame by appearing on the British version of the X Factor franchise created by Simon Cowell where they managed to keep going on until finishing in sixth place. Despite the disappointment of not winning, they were signed up to a recording deal with Sony Music before moving onto Universal Music Ireland in just a couple of months as per the suggestion of their manager, Louis Walsh. Their first two offerings to the music industry being Planet Jedward and Victory resulted in number #1 albums in Ireland as well as certification of 2x Platinum, definitely something to keep up with their next material.

They are set to release their third album entitled Young Love later on this month in both the United Kingdom and in Ireland but their fan base in the former is far stronger and therefore, the guys should be just as successful over there. In this years' Eurovision Song Contest, the guys did not get the result that they wanted when they finished in nineteenth place as opposed to their eight place finish in the previous year. Despite their dismay in the competition, Universal Music along with Jedward have been working hard on this set of new material and they are ready to start promoting it with a brand new single which also bears the name of the album. A preview to the track has been made available for all of the fans to listen to and it seems that the quirky pop number is receiving a lot of positive comments up to this point. Stay tuned to escflashmalta.com for all of the latest news as soon as it becomes available.

Ireland: Jedward Keeping Busy

As always, the Irish representatives at this years' Eurovision Song Contest have been keeping busy with their experience and last night bought two (2) rabbits which they have decided to name Euro and Vision and one has to add that they are enjoying the time spent in their new hotel surroudings, the hotel room of the brotherly duo. It is quite interesting point out that it is yet unknown whether the two pet rabbits can actually get Irish Visas but that would be noted in time along with other details. In the meantime, the focus on Ireland seems to be the water feature, a unique element in this years' Eurovision Song Contest which will be only during the performance of Waterline.

I have found out that there actually was a fault with the water feature and that it should have been much higher. The actual piece of equipment arrived in Baku a week before Jedward but unfortunately the production team did not check the mechanics. So their first rehearsal was the actual first time that they could check if the system was fully working. Therefore, what has happened now is that since Monday,  the production team have been working on the equipment around the clock to get it right. The question at this stage is whether it will actually be ready on time but we believe it will. The system in itself is controlled by Jedward Tour Manager; Liam McKenna. In the meantime, I would like to say a big than you to all our followers for your questions for Jedward for this Friday’s press conference. This article was written in collaboration with Eurovision Ireland so stay tuned for more information through escflashmalta.com and our partners for all of the latest news from the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest.
