On the 21st and 22nd November, the Public Broadcasting Services will be hosting the 2014-2015 edition of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest at the Marsa Shipbuilding. 20 acts will be taking centre stage, in hope of representing the country at next year's edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, being held in Vienna, Austria. Over the next couple of weeks, escflashmalta.com will be publishing a series of interviews with all the participants. Whilst thanking the Public Broadcasting Services for this opportunity, Let's continue and follow things up with Raquel Galdes.

Would you kindly introduce your entry to our readers and also identify the meaning behind the lyrics?

Stop Haunting Me is produced by Elton Zarb and written by Muxu.

It is a song that is personal to me and my songwriter. It talks about the moment you finally move on from a bad stage in your life, and you are finally doing good, and have found peace within yourself, but your past keeps haunting you and reminding you of all that once happened, You finally found peace within yourself to let go of it all, and just want your past whether its your ex or someone who has done you wrong to let go of you  and let you be free, and most importantly happy.

In Malta, the Eurovision Song Contest is considered to be a major outlet for the music industry, and you stand here as one of the semi-finalists. What does the whole experience mean to you?

I don’t consider Eurovision as a competition. I consider it as an opportunity for the 20 semi-finalists to be really exposed to the public, make new friends in the music industry and also a European Music Feast! I am so so so glad to be with the semi-finalists, and am enjoying every second of the whole experience!!

Recently, Malta has been rather successful at the Eurovision Song Contest, making the final on four of the last five participation attempts. What do you think is the reason for this success, and do you believe that your entry has what it takes to continue this positive trend?

Year after year every performing artist is taking Eurovision with more passion and determination which is finally leading us to have beautiful and powerful songs representing Malta. Also, there is a great team of professionals behind every winning song which helps a lot!

I fully believe in my song and the whole package. Considering what the song is really about, the style and the hard work me and my team are doing - I think that we have all it takes to continue the positive trend!!

If you were given the opportunity to sing another one of the competing entries in the 2014-2015 edition of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest, which one would it be and why?

I love all the entries but on the other hand, none of songs are my style to sing so I would rather stick with mine :) :)

Do you have any plans to release more music in the future, and do you have any particular projects in the pipeline?

Last September I was one of the 400 artists who auditioned at Downtown Artists London. I have been one of the 5 chosen artists and so I am currently working on my new album, which will be hopefully released in the beginning of next year.

There may be other opportunities which may arise in the coming days, which I will absolutely take!

Would you like to say anything to our readers at escflashmalta.com?

I would like to thank everyone who is supporting my song. I am really overwhelmed with all the positive comments and feedback. All this give me more motivation to keep on working hard as well as feeling satisfied that all the work hard is finally paying off! THANKYOU!!!
