Rockestra in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund will be returning for a sixth consecutive year, this time under the patronage of Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, 9th President of Malta. Due to overwhelming public demand, the event is going to be held on two dates, the 27th and 28th September.

Rockestra, a spectacular event which encourages the general public to donate money to a charitable cause whilst listening to live music played by the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Mro Sigmund Mifsud will offer a stunning line-up. In a feature entitled “A Quick Chat with the Stars of Rockestra 2014”, escflashmalta.com will be bringing you first hand comments from artists who have been included in the line-up, kicking off with two newcomers in the form of Estelle Imbroll and Brooke Borg.

"Rockestra is a sought after event for both the Maltese and the music community ... It is a great pleasure to be a part of this important charitable cause, as well as giving us artists the opportunity to perform on stage with the exceptional Malta philharmonic Orchestra." states Brooke Borg, winner of the Best Solo Artist Award at the 2013 edition of the Malta Music Awards.

With regards to the line-up of songs, Estelle, a Summer Hit Song Contest and L-Għanja tal-Poplu finalist, comments that “the public should expect amazing songs … some songs are ‘oldies’, others are those that all rock fans simply adore, whilst others still are those for the younger generation” finally stating the set list in itself is “awesome”, bringing “a smile on your face, whilst making you want to jump around”.

Both ladies, recognised for their different work in the local music scene encourage everyone to attend this year’s edition of the Rockestra, because of the belief “that the Community Chest Fund is proof of the generosity of the Maltese people” and that one “will not be disappointed”.

Tickets for the Rockestra, available at €10 and €15, are only available for Sunday. You may purchase yours through Ooii. Rockestra is taking place at the MFCC. We hope that you stay tuned to escflashmalta.com even through Facebook and Twitter for all the latest news from the local music scene.
