Fabrizio Faniello, winner of this years’ edition of the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza with the track Aħfirli Jekk Trid composed by Minik to the lyrics of Rita Pace has been a regular within the local music industry following his comeback back at the 2011 edition of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest with the song No Surrender written by Johan Stentorp and Johan Bejerholm. escflashmalta.com is a position to confirm that Fabrizio Faniello is hoping for a return to Copenhagen, the capital city of Denmark.

This does not really come as a surprise having already been there back in the 2001 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest with the song Another Summer Night composed by Paul Abela to the lyrics of Georgina Abela. It is important to note that the last time that Fabrizio was part of the line-up was back in 2012 when his entry I Will Fight For You (Papa’s Song) finishing in sixth place, failing to get past the second eliminatory phase for the very first time in years. It is no secret that the male vocalist and two time former Eurovision Song Contest representative is currently working on a brand new studio album which is set for release throughout 2014. Stay tuned to this portal for more news as it becomes available.

Minik, an upcoming singer/songwriter whose efforts were recognised during this years' edition of the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza, where he occupied the first four placings as a songwriter, plans to continue his success at next years' Malta Eurovision Song Contest. Speaking to escflashmalta.com, he confirmed that he plans to submit entries both as a singer and as a songwriter working with some of the most esteemed names in the local music industry.

Whilst success has been ever so present for Minik as a songwriter, it seems that he is more suited to the creative process with his only success in performing coming during the Malta Summer Hit Song Contest back in 2011 with a track entitled Let's Party which also featured Siconix. Minik had the opportunity to be on the stage of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest earlier this year as part of team of backing vocalists which accompanied Kevin Borg during his runner-up finish with the track Needing You co-written by Thoas Thornholm, Simon Gribbe, Dan Attlerud and Michael Clauss.

Also confirming submission to this portal is Ina Robinich, wife of Dominic Cini. In 2004, she went onto win one of the most esteemed competitions in the local music industry, L-Għanja tal-Poplu competition with the song Wellidni composed by Minik to the lyrics of Deo Grech. Therefore, escflashmalta.com has been pleased to confirm the submission of Ina Robinich, Minik, Eleanor Cassar, Richard Edwards, Kaya, Tiziana Calleja, Josef Tabone, Neville, Gloriana and Janvil whilst Nadine Axisa, Klinsmann and Melanie Zammit will opt out of the selection process. Stay tuned for more names in the coming days as the race heats up!

In recent years, the Public Broadcasting Services has been known to adapt the pre-selection process for the Eurovision Song Contest in a manner to include upcoming talent. Avid fans of the event surely remember the Opportunity 2 Challenge which was aired through Showtime on Television Malta around five to six years ago. As a matter of fact, one of the entrants that got his first big break was none other than Josef Tabone who got through the process to the Malta Eurovision Song Contest in 2006 in a duet with Amanda entitled It Just Comes Natural written by Clinton Paul.

From then onwards, Josef has been going from strength to strength, making it through to the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza on multiple occasions, the most recent being earlier this year in another duet, this time with Johanna, where they also managed a top ten placing. In 2010, he also made it through to the first qualification phase with the song Who Cares composed by Elton Zarb to the lyrics of Rita Pace. escflashmalta.com is pleased to exclusively reveal that Josef will be sending in his submissions next week, with the hope of getting through to the Malta Eurovision Song Contest for the second time in his career. Stay tuned to escflashmalta.com for the revelation of more names in the coming days.

Exclusive: Neville Proposes MESC '14 Submission

Hemm Miegħek Jien, composed by Minik to the lyrics of Rita Pace was the first runner-up at this years' edition of the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza held at the end of last month with vocals provided by Neville Refalo. In the past, the male vocalist had already represented Malta on foreign soil, managing to garner attention during his trip to Tenerife, Spain where he had performed the original track One Day composed by Mark Spiteri Lucas to the lyrics of Rita Pace, which in turn had won the Malta Hit Song Contest in 2009.

escflashmalta.com is in an exclusive position to reveal that Neville Refalo will also be putting his name forward in hope of getting through to the finals of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2014. Whilst success has somewhat come at different points of his career, Neville has somewhat been unlucky when it comes to the Malta Eurovision Song Contest, having only been a part of the showcase back in 2005 as part of a trio with Romina Mamo and Rachel Fabri. The track, entitled We Can Do Better written by Carm Fenech failed to attract the attention of the general public and languished in sixteenth place on the night despite an impeccable performance. Neville joins Janvil and Richard Edwards as the male vocalists who have indicated their intentions with regards to submission into the Malta Eurovision Song Contest. Stay tuned to escflashmalta.com for more exclusive news about the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in the coming days.

In 2010, the first runner-up at the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza was none other than Gloriana Arpa Belli, a relative minnow in the local music industry. Her song entitled Fil-Mużika composed by Renato Briffa to the lyrics of Doris Chetcuti almost upset the eventual winner Trid Tapprezza composed by Ray Agius to the lyrics of Alfred C Sant with vocals provided by Amber with just a handful of votes deciding the final result. escflashmalta.com is in a position to reveal that Gloriana intends to make her mark by entering the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2014 framework by contributing to the submissions.

Gloriana Arpa Belli might be a relative unknown but nevertheless, her experience within the music scene should be well respected having been a backing vocalist for several notable artists including the likes of Anna Azzopardi, a two time Malta Eurovision Song Contest participant. Her genealogical background is quite intriguing as well, noting that her mother is none other than Helen Micallef, Malta's 1972 representative with her uncle being Renato, Malta's 1975 representative. This means that one day, Gloriana might continue keeping participation at the Eurovision Song Contest within the family.

Gloriana is the first artist to confirm submission into the Malta Eurovision Song Contest without having previously been a part of the showcase. At this point in time, escflashmalta.com has exclusively revealed that former runners-up; Janvil, Eleanor Cassar, Richard Edwards, Tiziana Calleja and Kaya will all be trying their luck whilst veterans Nadine Axisa and Klinsmann will be opting out of the selection process. Davinia, last years' second runner-up confirmed submission on the programme; TVPM hosted by Corazon. Stay tuned to escflashmalta.com for more EXCLUSIVE news about the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2014.

2000, the year of the millennium and also a year in which Malta needed to overturn, it's worst ever result at the Eurovision Song Contest saw to the emergence of Kaya. At the time, she was known as Priscilla Psaila, a female vocalist in her teens who was making her debut within the Malta Eurovision Song Contest. The song she presented, entitled Our Love was composed by Alfred Zammit to the lyrics of Cynthia Sammut. At the end of the jury voting, it was revealed that she had finished as the second runner-up, behind Claudette Pace and her winning entry Desire composed by Philip Vella to the lyrics of Gerard James Borg and first runner-up Fabrizio Faniello whose entry Change of Heart was composed by Paul Abela to the lyrics of Georgina Abela.

Since then, Kaya has went onto win L-Għanja tal-Poplu alongside Il-Budaj with the track Tisimgħu Tissaħħar and also the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza alongside Ivan Borg with the song Dan Hu L-Mument composed by Mark Spiteri Lucas to the lyrics of Joe Chircop. It is also worth noting that she had the opportunity to represent Malta on foreign soil in several countries including Italy and Romania whilst making it through to the finals of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest on another two occasions; first time in 2010 in a duet with Kurt Calleja entitled Waterfall composed by Mark Debono to the lyrics of Rita Pace and in 2012 with the track First Time written by Gorgi. escflashmalta.com is proud to confirm that Kaya will indeed be amongst the submissions for the 2014 edition of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest. In 2005, Janvil was a debutante within the Malta Eurovision Song Contest, competing with the track You composed by Augusto Cardinali with lyrics by Giovann Attard. At the end of the voting, he found himself in the second runner-up slot behind eventual winner, Chiara and her self-penned Angel and future representative, Olivia Lewis with the track Deja Vu composed by Philip Vella to the lyrics of Gerard James Borg. Since then, Janvil has established himself as a leading figure in the industry, going onto reach the finals of the selection process on four more occasions, the last being in 2012 with the song You Are My Life written by George Platon.

We are in an exclusive position to reveal that Janvil will indeed be putting his name forward for the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2014 with the hope of winning that coveted international ticket. In recent months, the male vocalist has been very much working on his image and those who have seen any of his performances on television, could very much agree. It seems that routines will be very much part of the spectacle should he make it through to the semi-final and eventually the final stage of the competition. The Public Broadcasting Services will be receiving entries for the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2014 on the 30th and 31st October at the Creativity Hub in Gwardamangia. In 2010, Tiziana surprised everyone when her entry Words Are Not Enough composed by John David Zammit to the lyrics of Paul Callus finished in third place, behind Just a Little More Love composed by Paul Giordimaina to the lyrics of Fleur Balzan with vocals by Glen Vella and My Dream composed by Jason Paul Cassar to the lyrics of Sunny Aqulina with vocals by Thea Garrett. The latter went into represent Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest, failing to get past the semi-final stage.

Tiziana, a host of the programme Singled Out at the time was garnering maximum attention and thus achieved the second most amount of votes from the general public. Since then, Tiziana had been rather unlucky when it comes to the Malta Eurovision Song Contest having successfully made it through to the second stage, without managing to get through to the live stages. However, it is important to point out that in 2011, she was also a finalist within the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza with the song Kollox Mill-Qalb composed by John David Zammit to the lyrics of Paul Callus. On the other hand, she has also been a regular in charity events such as Rockestra and L-Istrina.

escflashmalta.com is proud to announce that Tiziana will indeed bit to get through to the Malta Eurovision Song Contest. This means that she is the third former runner-up following Eleanor Cassar and Richard Edwards to confirm submission as opposed to Klinsmann who has decided to opt out after seven consecutive years in the competition. Stay tuned to escflashmalta.com as we reveal the names of more artists who intend to submit entries in the hope of representing Malta at next years' edition of the Eurovision Song Contest taking place in Copenhagen, Denmark.
