The Dansk Melodi Grand Prix has become one of the most pivotal selections in the continent and this has been easily noted through the results achieved by Denmark in the Eurovision Song Contest having only failed to qualify on two occasions, the first time in 2004 with Shame On You by Thomas Thordarsson and in 2007 with the song Drama Queen performed by DQ. Up until a couple of years ago, the national selection was somewhat a small and reserved affair but despite keeping in line with their one show competition, the organisation has been improved greatly and interest in the industry is quite high noting that they received almost 700 entries, making it the highest number of submissions since 2009. DR, the broadcaster is pulling out the stops to make sure that the event is extravagant with the song quality set to be improved upon following the disappointing result achieved by Soluna Samay and Should've Known Better.

As a matter of fact, the hosts for the evening revealed just a couple of hours back are well celebrated icons in the world of television and they are three women in the form of; Louise Wolff, Lise Rønne and Sofie Lassen-Kahlke. On the other hand, the broadcaster wants to make sure that whilst the results are being counted and finalised, the right entertainment is provided hence forth why three international guests from the world of the Eurovision Song Contest have been called for a performance or two. The chosen artists are Johnny Logan, Brother Hood of Man and The Herreys, all of which have won the Eurovision Song Contest, in 1980, 1987, 1976 and 1984 respectively. The final is set to take place on the 26th January 2013 in the Jyske Bank Boxen Arena in the city of Herning. Denmark will be hoping to select a strong entry this time round and thus add a third victory to their roster following the success achieved in 1963 and 2000 respectively and they know that they will compete in the first semi-final.
