Ovi and Paula are back in the public spotlight with a new project called 'OPS' as well as with a sound that is different from what their fans were used to. After a succesful 5 year collaboration, the two launch 'S.A.M.P. (She's After My Piano)'.

The project 'OPS' is a natural progression of a 5 year collaboration between Paula and Ovi. It appeared out of the desire to move forward under one name, so that the solo projects, Paula Seling and Ovi would be more distinctive. "The next songs that are to be launched in the duet formula will be under a new brand", Ovi stated.

"Projects with Ovi challenge me to explore new characters every time. 'S.A.M.P.' is no exception. Just like "Playing with Fire", there is a funny dialogue between us, a sort of play. Because this project is different from what we do on our own, we thought it would be better if it had an alternative name. "So, this is how 'OPS' came out”, said Paula Seling.

Music, lyrics and production belong to Ovi Jacobsen, Simen Eriksrud, Brynjard Buvarp Misvaer, Halloun Philip Paridon/ Harboe. Ovi and Paula have successfully represented Romania at the Eurovision Song Contest twice; in 2010 with "Playing with Fire" finishing in 3rd place and in 2014 with "Miracle" finishing in 12th place. CyBC, the public broadcaster responsible for the participation of Cyprus in events organised by the European Broadcasting Union is proud to confirm it's return to both the senior and the junior editions of the Eurovision Song Contest following some time off due to financial constraints which hit most of the European broadcasters in the past couple of years.

It is worth keeping in mind that the Mediterranean Island has not troubled the leader board in any of the two events yet achieving a top five placing recorded in the senior edition on no less than three occasions, the most recent being back in 2004 with Lisa Andreas and her stunning performance of "Stronger Every Minute". Rumour has it that Cyprus and CyBC are in talks with a renowned artist with strong connections to the Eurovision Song Contest and who is currently running a top-tier vocal academy in the small participating nation. Sony Music, Warner Music and da Works have announced that they may potentially boycott the Norwegian national final after a new ruling from the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) in collaboration with record label Universal Music have announced that all competing songs in the Eurovision Song Contest are to be released as a part of the official album as well as single tracks available for download.

All profits from the Eurovision Song Contest songs will then bypass other labels and go directly to the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and Universal Music. Understandably, this has irked many in the music industry as Eurovision Song Contest songs are a guaranteed revenue generator. However, it has been cited that representatives from record companies have been forced to sign into this agreement. This has certainly been the case for Carl Espen whom would not have been able to represent Norway if the agreement had not been signed.

Leif O. Ribe from Sony Music told Norwegian newspaper VG that it also creates difficulties for record companies to promote their artist in other countries. Executive Producer for the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) Jan Ola Sand, has said that all countries were made aware of this but Norway is not the only country to react negatively. Regardless, this may have future implications for entrants to the Eurovision Song Contest. We urge you to stay tuned to escflashmalta.com even through Facebook and Twitter for all the latest news.

Tori Amos, an eight time Grammy Award nominee from the United States of America, with countless hits to her name including "Cornflake Girl", "Professional Widow" and "Caught a Life Sneeze" took to the stage in Linz, Austria and performed "Rise Like a Phoenix". It was a late addition to the set-list but definitely a welcome one with the audience going mad as soon as the first notes were played.

"Rise Like a Phoenix", the winning entry of the 2014 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest with vocals provided by Conchita Wurst was not the commercial winner of the music competition with first runner-up "Calm After the Storm" by The Common Linnets scoring higher in several charts across the globe, yet with endorsements coming from the likes of Cher and Tori Amos, it is no wonder why this song has re-defined the whole concept of the international music competition. We urge you to stay tuned to escflashmalta.com through Facebook and Twitter for all the latest news from the world of the Eurovision Song Contest.

Catarina Pereira, runner-up of the Festival da Cancao in 2010 and 2014 has just released a music video for the song "Mea Culpa" composed by Andrej Babic with lyrics by Carlos Coelho. The entry, first runner-up to "Quero Ser Tua" by Suzy, which in turn failed to get through the semi-final stage of the 2014 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest by just a mere point, would have done much better surely, with a latin sound that is vibrant, current and always in fashion.

Portugal returned to the Eurovision Song Contest after missing out in 2013, hoping to leave an impact on the festivities considering that the nation is yet to mark a victory or a top five result for that matter. We urge you to stay tuned to escflashmata.com even through social media portals Facebook and Twitter for all the latest news about artists who tried their luck at representing their nation in the Eurovision Song Contest.

Firelight, representatives of Malta at the 2014 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest with the song 'Coming Home', written by Richard Edwards Micallef, made an interesting revelation earlier this evening by announcing that their yet-untitled debut album is currently being finalised after their record label requested more than eight tracks, which had already been recorded prior to the Eurovision Song Contest.

The eleven track album does not have a release date, but the group's lead vocalist and songwriter Richard Edwards Micallef assured the television viewers that the material will be our during the course of 2014. Apart from the studio album, a promotion company has also engaged the band to tour Germany in the coming months, showing artists in Malta and across Europe that the Eurovision Song Contest is still a major platform for upcoming artists. We would like to wish Firelight the very best of luck and ask you to stay tuned to escflashmalta.com even on Facebook and Twitter for all the latest news.
