Every year on the 17th of May, Norway celebrates the anniversary of its constitution by holding huge parades all over the country with the biggest being held in the capital, Oslo. These parades usually involve school children who walk through the city centre waving Norwegian flags and trying to spot their parents in the crowds lining the street. Onlookers also play a huge part in the proceedings, often dressed in national costume, cheering the children on - a real party atmosphere! In Oslo, the parade snaked its way past the Royal Palace, where King Harald, Queen Sonia, Crown Prince Haakon,…
Earlier on in the day during the morning and early afternoon, the final nine participants took to the stage in order to perform their entry for the very first time. All of the performers will be singing on the 25th May 2010 during the first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest and one could easily note that the countries which really made a good impression were Malta, Belgium, Albania and Greece by a huge mile with no one being underwhelming. Tomorrow will feature the first eight performances from the second semi-final which will see what is in many peoples' opinion,…

Safura’s first rehearsal became a true artistic discovery for the Eurovision fans and journalists who got the first glimpse of the previously unseen stage performance created for the Azerbaijani artist by Beyonce’s choreographer JaQuel Knight. ‘Drip Drop’ got its new life on stage in Oslo. For the first time Safura performed with her dancer - Denis Hrystuk, finalist of Ukrainian version of ‘So You Think You Can Dance’. He brought his special feeling for ‘Drip Drop’ in every move to make this combination of song and dance a complete love story. The spice of Safura’s performance that took the audience…

Oslo 2010: Day 4 - Schedule

By
Yesterday saw the first eight semi-finalists of the second show set to be staged on the 27th May 2010 take to the stage for the very first time with some countries now being names as almost definite qualifiers with others seems less convinced now. Those who really impressed included Sweden whilst those who really did nothing included Israel. It will be interesting to see whether Harel has been holding back but more will be evident during his second rehearsal I guess. Alas today sees the final group of entrants from the second semi-final take to the stage and those will…
