In recent days, the host broadcaster of the 2014 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest unveiled the dates in which the competition is set to take place, these being 6th, 8th and 10th May 2014 but nevertheless both the city and the venue are yet to be revealed. Malta is one of the seventeen countries who have already confirmed participation within the event. We would like to invite you to the weekly Ultimate Eurovision Experience. Apart from the means of FM Radio in the Netherlands on FM 106.8 and the audio stream from the studio via and on Digital Cable 781 & Cable 8.1Mhz in the Netherlands, the show will also be web-televised via the Radio International TV Channel from the studio and linking up the many international Eurovision fans and friends and play your requests and read your messages out on air. The simulcast will be from 2000 – 2300 hours CET when fans can join in and chat amongst each other via the Chat Room and request their favourite Eurovision entry.

Gianluca, with his entry Tomorrow co-written by Boris Cezek and Dean Muscat achieved the best result for Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest since Angel performed by Chiara in 2005. The cheery track which has also entered the charts in the United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, The Netherlands and Ireland finished in eighth place. As a result of the positive result, the Public Broadcasting Services has also confirmed participation in next years' edition of the Eurovision Song Contest taking place in Denmark. Gianluca speaks about his experiences at the Pan-European event during the course of the evening. In the meantime, another Maltese artist who was interviewed was Glen Vella whose One Life represented the country in 2011, failing to get through by just a meager one point at the expence of Switzerland.

Another country which is surely basking in hot temperatures, at least on the southern side is surely Spain who were represented by El Sueno de Morfeo (ESDM) at this years' edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. The track entitled Contigo Hasta El Final was written to go down well with the juries on the night but nevertheless, with an extremely shaky performance by the lead vocalist during the final, it was set for a huge disappointment garnering only a small amount of points to finish in a penultimate position. Two interviews which should have aired in previous episodes but will be played this evening include the one with Ilias from the group Koza Mostra who represented Greece earlier this year as well as Natalia Kelly whose entry Shine fronted the name of Austria at the competition.

France has not been achieving positive results as of late noting that they have not been troubling the scoreboard on the night of the final of the Eurovision Song Contest. This year, the track L'Enfer et Moi performed by Amandine Bourgeois was selected to represent the nation and despite opening the competition, was seemingly forgotten towards the end. France 3, the broadcaster responsible for the participation of one of the highest financial contributors has been selecting the artists and the songs internally but it might be the time to change such a system. Amandine speaks of her time on Nouvelle Star and what prompted her to represent her nation at the Pan-European competition. Despite the result achieved, France have also confirmed their intentions to participate in next years' event taking place in Denmark, most likely due to the high viewing figures registered.

There will also be a number of new releases played throughout the three hours, including tracks by Kate Ryan, who represented Belgium at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2006; Glennis Grace, representative of The Netherlands at the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest; Jessy Matador, French representative at the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest; Maya Sar, the last representative for Bosnia & Herzegovina thus far and last but not least; Paolo Meneguzzi who represented Switzerland at the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest. All of the latest news is also covered during the weekly broadcast noting resources from and escXtra where Luke Fisher, the Editor makes a weekly round-up. David Mann will be discussing cover versions from the Eurovision Song Contest. Make sure to tune into this evenings episode of Radio International on the links offered above as we help you get through your post Eurovision depression.
