Eurovision 2014: DR Reveals Dates for Competition

Mid-way through the rehearsals of the annual Eurovision Song Contest, the European Broadcasting Union prepares three dates in May which would be used as preliminary setup for the competition taking place within the following year. DR, the broadcaster responsible for the participation of Denmark and thus for next years' organisation has just made some slight alterations opting for the 6th and 8th as the dates of the semi-finals as opposed to the 10th May 2014 for the date of the final of next years' edition of the Pan-European competition.

Denmark won the right to host the competition next year following the victory of Emmelie de Forest and her entry Only Teardrops co-written by Lise Cabble, Julia Fabrin Jakobsen and Thomas Stengaard. This was the third victory for the Scandinavian country with their most recent prior to this being achieved back in 2000 when the competition also took place in Sweden. On that occasion, it was the Olsen Brothers with the song Fly On The Wings of Love which surprised everyone by walking away with the victory. It is yet unknown where Denmark will be staging the competition although it has to be noted that Herning is in pole position after the Parken Stadium in Copenhagen surprisingly pulled out. Stay tuned to escflashmalta.com for all of the latest news.
