Ireland: Jedward Interested in Third Participation

Lipstick, co-written by Dan Priddy, Lars Halvor Jensen and Martin Larsson with vocals by Jedward was the track which gave dignity to Ireland in recent years, noting the success of the track in the charts where it peaked at number #1 prior to reaching eighth place at the final of the Eurovision Song Contest. Jedward helped raise the profile of the competition in the once dominant nation and thus returned for a second participation the following year with the track Waterline co-written by Nick Jarl and Sharon Vaughn. Recent media speculation might see the duo return to the competition for a third time.

In recent weeks, Jedward confirmed that their three (3) album contract with Universal Music Ireland has officially ended without being renewed, something which is quite surprising considering that their releases have all proven to be successful in Ireland and beyond. Their last studio album entitled Young Love was number #1 in Ireland, number #11 in Sweden, #8 in Estonia, #18 in Korea and #22 in Finland amongst others. Their success on a European level has all come down to their participation at the Eurovision Song Contest and a return could somewhat help them secure a recording contract.

It's relatively funny to denote that despite not having a record deal, the brotherly duo known as Jedward have recently been in Los Angeles recording songs with Drew Andrew Scott who is a successful songwriter and producer who has worked with the likes of Willow Smith, The Overtones, New Kids on the Block and Miley Cyrus amongst others. Jedward are currently on tour having been to Canada, Australia and currently Africa. They will continue to entertain audiences as much as their energy permits it seems.
