TVE, the broadcaster responsible for the participation of Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest has somewhat been the target of criticism for several years due to the fact that despite a budding music industry, the nation has failed to meet realistically positive targets at the international showcase. It seems like the criticism was finally met with an answer because, Pastora Soler, a renowned and Grammy Nominated artist was selected internally with a panel of judges and a public vote determining which track she should perform. Ultimately, Quedate Conmingo finished in tenth place at the Eurovision Song Contest, the first top ten finish since 2004. In 2013, another notable act has been selected, in the form of ESDM - El Sueño de Morfeo.

El Sueño de Morfeo are quite successful in Spain and their dominance was seen throughout the past couple of years noting that their last four albums have all managed to rank in the top twenty in Spain, their last release entitled Buscamos sonrisas being the lowest at just #16. TVE invited the group to submit their own entries into the competition considering that they tend to write their own material and whilst two tracks entitled Dame Tu Voz and Contigo Hasta El Final were directly qualified, the final track for the selection had to be chosen through an online vote between Atrevete and Revolucion. The vote came to an end yesterday and it was revealed that Atrevete won with around 70% of all of the submitted votes. Therefore, the line-up of tracks is complete and the group will be choosing their entry in a public selection taking place on the 26th February 2013 at the Saint Cugat Studios in Barcelona. Stay tuned to escflashmalta.com for all of the latest news about Spain in the upcoming edition of the Eurovision Song Contest taking place in Sweden.
