'The Celebrity Night' is a weekly television programme which has become somewhat synonymous with Saturday evening, is broadcast on F Living Channel. Franklin Calleja, a respected male vocalist whose ascent to the top of the local music scene has been well documented through the depth of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest, has taken his residency on "Ħadd Għalik" to a whole new level by virtue of performing a previously unheard original song, one which was submitted for the national selection in 2014. "Made for You", composed by Elton Zarb to the lyrics of Miriam Christine speaks about two individuals who are made for each other, and need to find a way to be together at all costs. In 2014, a local music competition known as the Summer Hit Song Contest was revived, with the aim being to submit entries with a particular vibe, one which radio stations across the country would not have any issue in promoting through airplay. A professional panel of judges assessed the quality of each respective submission before reaching a desired result, one which gave success to the song "Back To..", written by Mark Scicluna and Emil Calleja Bayliss, with vocals provided by Domenique. L-Għanja tal-Poplu, a local music competition, known to breathe life into the music industry, officially takes on a new dimension as of today, as 16 entries out of the original 105 submissions, will be part of the 39th edition of the competition. It has been a rigorous selection process, involving 5 professional jury members, whose first task was to shortlist the best 35, out of which they had to bring down by half, once more. The organising committee of L-Għanja tal-Poplu issued a Press Release accounting for the first details of the 39th edition, having successfully received a total of 105 submissions, a large number, especially taking into consideration the 71 and 34 entries which were submit for the 37th and 38th edition of L-Għanja tal-Poplu, which took place in 2013 and 2014 respectively. Due to the high interest, it was unanimously decided that the eliminatory phase should be split into two, ensuring that the members of the jury have the opportunity to pick the most suitable songs. At this stage, the organising committee thought it would be ideal to publish the names of the 35 songs through to the second phase of the competition, as they will be considered as possible finalists. "No Surrender", an entry in the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2011, and also title track of album number #6 for male singer/songwriter, Fabrizio Faniello might be taken more to heart, rather than rekindling his career in music, after going public with a drug addiction problem, from which he is still recovering. During a recent television interview with Peppi Azzopardi during "Xarabank" on Television Malta, the male vocalist revealed that the main aim behind the chat was for people to acknowledge their problem and seek support.
