The local music scene has not always proven positive throughout time but nevertheless, it seems that currently, things are very much thriving noting that artists are putting their music out there and even getting the opportunity to perform abroad. One has to gain recognition locally and having a strong management, dedicated to bringing the best out of a performer musically and that is what has been done with the likes of Brooke, Red Electrick, Airport Impressions, Carrie Haber and Ira Losco for example. Nevertheless, an upcoming band by the name of Dry Connections seems to be making the rounds at the moment and like The Crowns, emerging at a rapid rate.

Having come together just three years ago, the group have achieved quite a lot in just a short span of time and have a lot of work to do in order to continue on their road to success. It seems that their first real year of success came forth in 2011, noting that runner-up finish in one of the leading Battle of the Bands competitions in the country before getting the accolade for the Best Upcoming Artist at the Malta Music Awards later on that year. The support of 89.7 Bay is somewhat quite important in Malta presently and after gaining airplay with their first single entitled Right from the Start, they crept up the charts spending a total of twelve weeks there, even spending some time at number #1.

They have most recently been given the opportunity to support acclaimed group Airport Impressions during their slot in the Beland Music Festival in Żejtun and they took the opportunity to premier their brand new single bearing the name The Road So Far. Dry Connections are finding their feet in the industry and with a competent sound which seems to be maturing with each song they release, it seems that they will succeed. The group is made up of Manfred Bugeja on bass, Mark Pellicano and Bruce Busuttil on guitars, Franklin Farrugia on drums and Steve Farrugia on vocals.
