Finland: Video Message from Krista Siegfrids (2013)
Written by Marc Calleja Bayliss
Krista Siegfrids will be representing Finland in the upcoming edition of the Eurovision Song Contest with the track Marry Me co-written alongside Erik Nyholm, Kristofer Karlsson, Jessika Lundström. It is important to note that the national selection in the Scandinavian country was actually quite stunning both in musical and visual quality and it is something which Finland required following the disappointment of the previous year which had seen Pernilla Karlsson take to the stage with the song När jag blundar written by Jonas Karlsson. In the second semi-final, she will be performing in slot number #6, just one before Malta whose Gianluca will be performing the track Tomorrow co-written by Dean Muscat and Boris Cezek. In recent days, Krista Siegfrids had the opportunity to speak to our senior editor, Antoine Farrugia about her upcoming participation in the international spectacle but did not want to reveal what is going to happen…

Ukraine: Visual Presentation of 'Gravity' is Key
Written by Marc Calleja Bayliss
Ukraine has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest ten times. Infact, their first entry goes back to 2003 with a 14th place finish for Oleksandr Ponomaryov. The country won in 2004 when famous singer Ruslana turned wild with her strong entry Wild Dances. Ukraine finished in joint 19th place in the 2005 contest, for which Kiev, was the host. Ukraine has a remarkable record in the contest. It has never been eliminated in the semifinals, and has therefore never missed a final. And they will probably make the finals this year too with the soundtrack song Gravity sang by the beautiful Zlata Ognevich. The singer is busy preparing her final touches for the stage performance of the Avatarish song. Four backing vocals are expected to be on stage to sing along with her but the sixth member of the performance is yet to be unveil. One of the backing vocals…

ESC 2013: Stars Join Forces to Co-write Anthem
Written by Marc Calleja Bayliss
SVT, the broadcaster responsible for hosting this years' edition of the Eurovision Song Contest are doing everything in their power in order to ensure that they will be remembered, as has been the case in the past where innovation has been key. Abba, winners of the 1974 international showcase were touted for a re-union earlier on in the season but plans were quickly shot down by the male members of the group, Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson who have reached a compromise to co-write a track which will serve as the anthem for the spectacle. Apart from the actual composition, world renowned dance artist, Aviici has taken care of the production and therefore, it will surely be a stunning piece of music. The song which has been aptly entitled We Write The Story will be officially performed for the first time on the night of the final set for the…

Malta: Gianluca Promotes 'Tomorrow' Across Europe
Written by Marc Calleja Bayliss
Tomorrow, co-written by Dean Muscat and Boris Cezek with vocals provided by Gianluca is being touted as a dark horse in this years' edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. The young performer was a complete newcomer to the festival scene a couple of months ago and ultimately finished in second place when it came to the public just behind favourite, Kevin Borg but nevertheless, with the overwhelming support of the jury, he was given the opportunity to carry the flag on behalf of the country. The Public Broadcasting Services are doing their utmost to promote both him as an artist as well as the actual track, an infectious indie/pop song which is current in both genre and presentation. A promotional tour might not always be key to success but several countries appreciate the visit and this year, one has to applaud the broadcaster on their strategy. Earlier this year, Gianluca…

Written by Marc Calleja Bayliss
Croatia will be taking part in the first semi-final of this years' edition of the Eurovision Song Contest with the track Mižerja performed by Klapa S Mora. The decision of the track was taken by an internal panel of professional judges following an external call in which the broadcaster, HRT had already decided to go down a traditional route opting to send a klapa to the international spectacle. It is worth noting that the genre is a heritage, also recognised by Unesco, which in turn is a specialised agency of the United Nations. An official video to accompany the entry was officially published last night. Mižerja, written by Goran Topolovac who hails from Duga Resa is supporting the tourism of Croatia in general with the video somewhat keeping the traditions alive. Marko Å kugor, NikÅ¡a Antica, Leon Bataljaku, Ivica Vlaić and Bojan Kavedžija are all from different parts of Croatia…

L'Essenziale is part of the sophomore album #PRONTOACORRERE, released by Sony Music Italy and the management think that it is best to continue promoting Marco as a versatile artist and lead in with a brand new single, the title track of the studio album.
