One of the most successful nations at the Eurovision Song Contest during the past couple of years has surely been Greece especially following their victory in 2005 with Helena Paparizou and her track My Number One but such a pristine record could not always be held and as a matter of fact, the woman to have ended the consecutive run of top ten results was Eleftheria Eleftheriou who first tried to go to the music event for Cyprus a couple of years back but this years' track Aphrodisiac proved to be the best possible choice for the Hellenic nation. Once more, it seems that their low result has been anointed by the jury vote as expected with the final result being a seventeenth place, just slightly below Cyprus who finished in fifteenth place with La La Love as performed by Ivi Adamou.
Despite the disappointment, the viewing figures for Greece were very high as they have been in recent years and participation is thought to be secure for the years to come especially as the competition moves to Sweden in 2013. Eleftheria Eleftheriou in the meantime is also continuing with her music career debuting her new single this morning on Greek Radio Station; Star FM. The brand new track which bears the name Hearts Collide is clearly a track written for the months of summer noting a Greek rhythm and a beautiful beat that will definitely get everyone dancing. Eleftheria is signed to Universal Music Greece and despite her failure to impress at the Eurovision Song Contest, she is still going to embark on a tour which she has named after her entry at the esteemed music event performing shows all across Greece and also a one off special in Sweden on the 3rd August 2012.
