Sweden: Therese Enters 2013 Melodifestivalen
Written by Marc Calleja BaylissMelodifestivalen is set to undergo a number of small changes in 2013 noting that the web joker feature has been abandoned for the very first time in three years with the last spot in the competition set to be given to the winner of the Svensktoppen Nästa, which just happens to feature artists from all over the county with original tracks penned specifically for the regional competition. Following gruelling weeks of competition, Sveriges Radio appointed a panel of judges whom alongside the people chose the top two finalists with the public then having the final say on who would ultimately be given the winning ticket. This year, the representative of Stockholm was given the title with the female artist who will enter Melodifestivalen in 2013 being none other than, Terese Fredenwall.

Following the victory, Therese was quite ecstatic celebrating with friends and noting that this will be the beginning of a brand new chapter in her life, one which she will be looking forward to. The track that she performed to win her place into the selection was entitled Drop The Fight and it seems to have been a pop/ballad so to speak with slight elements of rock to give it more of a flavour. One of the judges of the Svensktoppen Nästa was Christer Björkman because of his involvement with the Melodifestivalen and also next years' edition of the Eurovision Song Contest which is taking place in Malmo, Sweden. He has praised the talent of Therese and will be working hard to find her a suitable song to compete with the possibility of going to the competition in her home country. It is rumoured that there will be a number of high profile artists competing to represent Sweden next year. Stay tuned to escflashmalta.com for all of the latest news as soon as it becomes available.
